More than Rain – Report and seminar Climate change is now at the top of the agenda world wide. As the consequences of global warming are increasingly felt on
all continents, many people struggle to make ends meet as natural resources become scarce, biodiversity decreases, land areas
appropriate for agriculture and cultivation diminish and weather conditions worsen. However, farmers have for thousands of
years had to adapt to changing conditions and have therefore developed various techniques for overcoming such harsh conditions.
Local knowledge and expertise is essential in overcoming the future challenges of a changing climate. The Development Fund has for 30 years focused our work on linking environmental issues and community development. This year we’re celebrating our 30th anniversary and launching a brand new report on climate adaptation and poverty reduction. A seminar will be held in September where climate change and climate adaptation will be discussed and partners of the Development Fund from all over the world will come to Oslo to attend this event. More information about the report, seminar and research project can be found below. The project is funded by Norad. More than Rain: A new report on climate change adaptation
